Yes Man

Horrible movie. Some parts of it were funny some where stupid. But the most horrible part was when a Korean girl hooks up with a White man instead of a Korean man. Wow! Why does this happen so much. And this does affect people substantially, everywhere you go you see asian women with white men. Sigh. Don't see this movie!!!!!!!!!

Tropic Thunder movie review

WOW! A movie about Asians and no stereotypes or racism. This movie is hilarious! Ben Stiller made this one funny movie. The jokes and the casting was spot on. The movie is about about a bunch of actors who shoot a movie about a Vietnam veteran. If you haven't seen this movie go buy the dvd. Awesome job.

P.S. Sorry this review is very very very very late.

Max Payne

Girl:

Instead of the usual "guy" starting off, I decided it was time for a little change. Anyway, Max Payne was a visually stunning movie. The plot on the other hand, needed some work. Mark Wahlberg plays a man obsessed with finding his wife and child's killer. I thought it would be an ordinary mystery movie, but it turns out there is some supernatural parts thrown in. Due to this, the movie is confusing...and it takes a while to figure out what is going on. Fortunately, there are no offensive materials against Asians.

Guy:

The movie, in the simplest way to describe it,
was long and confusing. It had some common parts with the original video game, but it was short. The movie needed more backstory; it was confusing because it was rushed. If you want to see something nice, watch Max Payne. If your waiting for a movie with a detailed plot, wait a little longer.

Quarantine Movie Review [short]

Guy:
First off, this movie was terrible. For me the story line was too dry and bland; the camera work made me want to puke. Don't see the movie if you get motion sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WILL RUIN THE MOVIE FOR YOU . GO SEE SOMETHING ELSE.

Girl:

When I first glanced at the Quarantine trailer, I kind of suspected this would be a third rate movie. After seeing the movie, my suspicions were confirmed; it sucked. The camera work was completely off (and nauseating), a confusing plot, and just overall boring. This movie should definitely be nominated for a Razzie in all categories.

As for any offending Asian scenes...there were none...but the plot makes up for it.

Blindness (YES!!! We're back!!!!)

3:41 PM Reporter: AMW 0 Responses
Blindness, the novel adapted into film, was originally written by Jose Saramago. The movie is rated "R" for mature content.

The plot is about modern society hit with an epidemic of blindness and how people react to it. Stars such as Julianne Moore & Mark Ruffalo play a couple that seemed to have an ordinary life until Mark Ruffalo comes down with an unusual case of blindness yet his wife stays with vision. Eventually, the disease begins to become a big problem and the government assigns all citizens with the disease into a quarantine until it subsides. Of course, chaos ensues.

Now getting to the main squeeze. The film opens with a Japanese man, played by Yusuke Iseya, finding out he is blind. Normally in most Western movies, the Asian character is only a temporary role in the film, but actually, he stayed in the whole movie along with his wife played by Yoshino Kimura. Both end up with disease and together, along with Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo, plus some other people, they end up in the quarantine and have to fight for their lives. In the end, Yusuke Iseya has the ability to see again, hinting that the blindness was only a temporary problem.

The film had a lot of morals, but the most important ones were that humans should ban together and material goods are basically worthless; (perhaps) what to expect when an epidemic hits; and human nature when shortages happen.

Overall this movie is a thumbs up. It seems so real that it's actually depressing. Plan your next visit to the theaters NOW!

The Mummy Tomb of the Dragon Emperor Movie Review

10:04 PM Reporter: AMW 0 Responses
Guy:

Now first of all this movie was good. It had great fight scenes, action, anything you would imagine in your average blockbuster adventure movie. The movie is about a mummy emperor (from China) being raised from the dead by a general trying to resurrect China back to it's former glory, and the fight that happens with people trying to shut it down. However, there was one part of the movie that wasn't quite right. The movie is the third in the Mummy series. They've been around for quite a while now and the main character played by Brendan Fraser. Now Brendan Fraser might want to stop making Mummy movies after a while so the writers decided to add the main character's son to the film. So your thinking what's wrong with that? Well the son falls in love with a lovely Asian woman and they are instantly in love. What??????? So some white guy falls in love with an Asian woman! What possibly attracted him? It's so clear that its typical Hollywood trying to make the Asian woman think the the White man is better. Now the director Rob Cohen usually respects Asians in his movies. But now just what happened. Your probably thinking whats wrong with an Asian woman with a White man? Well nothing except for the fact that most Asian women are married to white men. Stop being hypnotized by the media. What the hell Rob.

Girl

The Mummy Tomb of the Dragon Emperor was overall average. Having Brendan Fraser as the main lead was a total disappointment. Hell even Harrison Ford could do a better job then he can. Then you have whats-his-face as the sidekick. Brendan must be getting too old if he needs a partner.

Jet Li has GOT to find another job. Total bore as the "Dragon Emperor" and the scene where Brendan kicks his ass was pathetic. The Dragon Emperor was a martial arts master right? So how in the world can you possibly lose to an old poser?

The plot was terrible. In the end we all know the white dude wins, gets the asian girl, etc, etc.

As the film goes on, the story starts becoming more dumb and retarded when an ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN shows up as an ally. And then somehow Asian people can also conjure up magical spells. Wow.

AT&T Commercial

1:10 PM Reporter: AMW 1 Response
Guy:

So if you noticed the new AT&T commercial, the Asian man gets his food taken from a Caucasian guy. Come on AT&T. Why couldn't have been an white guy getting his grub taken. These absurd commercials make it so that the Asian man is always the victim. For example: the Cheerios commercial. The Asian guy catches the box and then the white lady snatches it from his hand and he doesn't do anything about it. Think about it. Why do the asians play timid people!!?
